Fish Oil Capsules Promote Better Health

The omega 3 fatty acids, docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) are Fish oil contents, and are of great positive benefit for health. Large scale studies have shown in the past that DHA & EPA, when consumed in recommended quantities through fish meals or fish oil capsules, reduce the risk of a heart attack, abnormal heart rhythms, strokes, hardening of the arteries and blood pressure.

The United States National Institute of Health recommends intaking fish oil for the following conditions: Hypertriglyceridemia, Secondary cardiovascular disease prevention, and High blood pressure. Among the conditions fish oil could be of benefit are 27 other conditions! Evidence in these cases are not of the highest level.

The benefits of fish oil not only effect health, but can also effect personal behavior. In select studies, violent prisoners in England and Finland have been shown to have below normal levels of the fatty acids found in fish oil. Although an intake of more than 3 grams daily could lead to bleeding, posing some safety concerns.

A common misconception is that fish produce omega 3 fatty acids. This is inaccurate. They accumulate the fatty acids as they pass through the food chain. Micro algae begin with the actual production. Fish then eat them. Other fish consume fish that have begun the accumulation process as well. This is the dangerous step in the process.

Since most of the fish from which we get the above-mentioned acids are at the top of the food chain, they end up accumulating a lot of toxic substances too, like mercury. The FDA recommends limiting the consumption of fish due to the possibility of getting too many toxins. So how can we then benefit from the numerous benefits that accrue from fish oil? A lot of people have found their answer in fish oil supplements.

Omega 3 supplements are now available in the fish oil capsules form. Be cautious when choosing your family's fish oil capsules. Look for products specifically drawn from a single series. Brands that process fish species graded for human consumption and certified toxin free are your best choice. Companies that press their fish oil only from healthy fish flesh help to minimize the risk of contaminants and hidden Vitamin A and D.

Since large amounts of retinol Vitamin A are dangerous, fish oil capsules made only from the fish"'s flesh are recommended.
