Preventing and Treating Teenage Stretch Marks

by Gabriell Rygh

Puberty is full of problems: pimples and acne, growth spurts and weight gain, and the dreaded stretch marks. After knowing all this it's no wonder your teenage years are so troublesome, however, you're not the first teen to have these problems and thankfully there are ways of dealing with these problems.

In the case of stretch marks the group of teenagers most affected is usually women, however men aren't a stranger to stretch marks. In order to protect your skin your best bet is stretch mark prevention. Keep in mind the more elastic your skin is, the more likely it will stand up to excessive stretching.

Preventing Stretch Marks

Growth spurts and rapid weight loss are the main causes of stretch marks. However, stretch marks are the product of a disruption in the production of collagen. So, if the disruption of collagen is the cause, it's fair to assume that collagen boosting products can be the solution.

Once you get your hands on an effective and natural stretch marks cream, you need to be consistent with its application in order to actually have a chance at preventing stretch marks.

Another source of stretch marks is weight gain. Due to hormonal fluctuations many teenagers begin to gain weight during this time. Sometimes, they can even gain an excessive amount of weight.

In order to keep this under control, it is important that you follow a sensible diet. Eating fresh fruits and vegetables is a great way of maintaining a healthy and stable weight. Try to stay away from junk food and fast food as they only contain empty calories and can even exacerbate another teen problem: acne.

You can also help yourself maintain a healthy weight by exercising regularly. Exercise has several other benefits as well. Some of which include keeping your skin healthy, keeping your body flexible and strong, and even helping control your mood swings.

Stretch Marks Be Gone!

Stretch marks lotions can help you get rid of stretch marks or minimize their appearance. There is also a natural, cold pressed oil that is an excellent stretch mark treatment: rose hip seed oil. This oil is gentle and safe for teenage use.

Rose hip oil comes from the rosa moschata bush in South America. Its success in treating stretch marks is due to its high levels of Vitamin A, Vitamin C, and essential fatty acids.

These substances help dissolve damaged cells and flush them from the affected area while also helping promote the production of new collagen and skin cells. This is a process that may take several months, but in time the stretch mark will begin to reduce in size.

You can also try cover up methods to hide your stretch marks. Body makeup is more wearable than traditional foundation. Spray-on tans are another way of covering up stretch marks, especially during summer.

BIOBODYCREAM is a natural stretch mark treatment cream that is made with a natural mix of ingredients potent enough to remedy stretch marks and help prevent stretch marks. The key ingredient is snail serum, a compound that is both potent and gentle enough to treat various skin problems, and also a great addition to any skin care treatment.
